What is a pROSTHODONIST?
The American Dental Association recognizes prosthodontics as one of the nine specialties of dentistry. Prosthodontists receive extensive training, including three years of additional education beyond dental school.
Prosthodontists are specialists in the restoration and replacement of missing teeth and oral structures with natural, esthetic, and functional replacements. This includes surgical implant placement, the simple to most complex implant supported restorations, laboratory and clinical training in esthetics/cosmetics, crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, removable complete and partial dentures, and dental implants.
*periodontal services offered by a prosthodontist, not a specialist in periodontics.
